We Sell Sanctuary

March 19, 2010

Since President Obama refuses to help Democrats who stand against his health control bill:

The president will refuse to make fund-raising visits during November elections to any district whose representative has not backed the bill.

A one-night presidential appearance can bring in hundreds of thousands of dollars in funds which would otherwise take months to accumulate through cold-calling by campaign volunteers.

Mr Obama’s threat came as the year-long debate over his signature domestic policy entered its final week.

Doing what’s right sometimes means rewarding bravery in the face of intimidation. Those Democrats who speak the truth – anyone who speaks the truth – with shaking voices will find refuge in the tea party. The tea party movement isn’t and never was Republican or Democrat; we’re limited government, individual liberty, comprised of Republicans, Democrats, Libertarians, Independents. Those who stand for limited government in the face of tyranny are welcome.

Any Democrat that votes NO, I and others will be there for them in their primary races because we know that the President and the Democrat party will set them up for failure this fall and 2012. We are the wrench in those plans. Ultimately, by protecting these stalwart Democrats, we are helping to save the Democrat party from socialism.

We’re not asking our fellow conservatives to vote for a Democrat – but we are asking that they not sacrifice strategy due to an inability to see the forest for the trees. The only votes we have in health control are those of the brave Democrats standing against the socialists within their own party, fighting for your right to determine your own health care.

The goal of this struggle is to change hearts and minds and if we are unwilling to bestow credit where credit is due, positive reinforcement, then we need to put down the placards and reexamine our purpose and the means we employ to achieve our ends.

If you agree that the final outcome of this struggle should be individual liberty and less of Uncle Sam, stand with us and help us help those persecuted by the socialist left.

    GREAT idea, Dana!

Between TOTUS’ support being a “kiss of death” historically, and the idea of some help from the Tea Party in standing up to primary challenges… there is a lot of incentive for wavering dems here.

And given Tom Coburns promise to OUT any sold votes, and the promise to hold any nominations to federal posts for YES votes who lose their re-election bid… I’m thinking there are some Dems out there who will be receptive to our message!

    Genius, as usual, Dana.

This is why Newt finally “gets it” about the Tea Parties. We cannot be an “arm of the Republican Party” because exactly this sort of initiative is critical to our Republic. Because of gerrymandering rules, there are districts where the “D” next to the name matters more than if the person has horns, a pointy tail, smells of sulfur, and carries a trident.

In those blue districts is the future of our nation.

Sing it if you know it:
I went to the enemy’s camp
And I took back what he stole from me,
I took back what he stole from me,
Took back what he stole from me …

With Pres. Obama’s ratings dropping more every day, I’d say he’d be doing them a favor by not campaigning for them.

DISCLAIMER: I am not a Tea Party member, nor am I am a Democrat or Republican. I am Independent with a number of liberal-to-moderate leanings. Liberals think I’m Conservative. Conservatives think I’m Liberal. I also state for the record that I am not a troll and am actually here for an open discussion.

Having said that, my general query is this: If you are willing to support the Blue Dog Democrats in their primaries, will you also support them in the general elections?
